To quit or not to quit is the question

posted on 20 August 2010 | posted in Business and Finance

My job has become overwhelming. The human resource department has let five people go in my department alone. This has made my load so heavy. Working as a customer service representative is not an easy job. The calls come in for orders. No one likes to put on hold. People get right down nasty. I should not have done such a good job. If I had been a dead beat then I would have been laid off. You can collect unemployment benefits if you are laid off. You cannot collect unemployment benefits if you quit. I am about to tear my hair out right now. I complained to my manager about the work load. I even explained that if we do not get more people in our department we could lose customers. I was told to put in overtime to get things done. I don't mind a little overtime but I won't get out of work until late. I like to have dinner with my family at night. I told my boss that I will put in some overtime this week but she better hire back one of the laid off clerks or I am quitting and I don't care if I don't get unemployment benefits.
