Everday I go to the park to continue with my book. I choose the park primarily to people watch. These people inspire the characters in my book. I sit under the gazebo and watch the cyclist, the coffee drinker, the footballers - and somehow they inspire my writing.
I've tried writing at home and I get blocked. I've tried writing in the library - more writer's block. It's only the park where it works for me. I feel that life is happening there, and that's what I need to bring to my story - life.
My advice for writers is - first off, learn to write with a pen and notepad, NOT a laptop. A pen and notepad means you're more mobile and you're not tied down to battery life. Then get out of your house and find a spot that's agreeable and try to write. If it doesn't work, move on until you feel inspired by your surroundings.
